THE INVISIBLE DOG STORE
curated by Steven and William Ladd
Steven and William Ladd first visited The Invisible Dog in the summer of 2009. The brothers have been collaborating for the past 10 years. A commission to build a chandelier for the space led to a lasting friendship with the director, a love for the space, and an influx of materials into their studio.
The materials – industrial belt and buckle parts – were left over from the factory’s heyday. They utilized the materials to hand-make beautiful design objects.
The Invisible Dog Store is a group of objects created for and inspired by the transition of a belt and buckle factory into an arts institution. The Ladd brothers included the objects they made and invited a few of the people they love to submit objects.
