Vanessa Belli

Vanessa Belli was born and raised on the Central Coast of California. She earned a Bachelors degree in Art and Design at San Jose State University and then a Master of Architecture at the Southern California Institute of Architecture’s, international program in Vico Morcote, Switzerland. After working on small scale design-build projects, furniture and metalwork she transitioned to construction management for large scale residential projects. She recently moved to Brooklyn with her husband and 14 year old daughter. Currently her work has shifted from textiles- hats and stuffed objects, to sculptural painting, and photos of these ‘live canvases’. So far it’s been a collaboration with nature and time, playing with controlled decay, aging, perspective and beauty.
