LA SALLE A MANGER (SAM)

Welcome to la Salle A Manger, but everybody calls it SAM!

SAM is a private dining room, located just next to The Invisible Dog Art Center. A real dining room like our parents’ or grand-parents’ one: a long wooden table designed by Fritz Hansen, 12 Eames’ Eiffel black chairs, a culinary library of more than 300 books, a chandelier created by artist Nemo Hoffman, a collection of Egyptian photographs from 1930, a loony dog sculpture and still life paintings by artist Stephen Morrison, a painting by Katie Butler, and an open kitchen where Lucien Chef Ambition concocts before you sophisticated and creative meals elaborated with attention.

First and foremost, SAM is the fundraiser force behind The Invisible Dog Art Center. When you book a lunch or dinner, or any event, 100% of the proceeds go to the artistic program of the Invisible Dog. It’s our way to raise funds, it’s like a Fundraising Gala Dinner but with only guests you love and a much better food.

There is a unique story behind every dish we serve. Drawing inspirations from various places such as France, Egypt, and Japan, our food is a fusion of different cultures with unexpected flavors which will leave you wanting for more. Our Chef uses fresh, organic ingredients that are locally sourced from places that offer nothing but high quality and artisanal products.

We understand that people have different dietary needs, therefore our menus can be tailored according to people’s preferences. Vegetarian? Yes. Vegan? Of course. No meat? Absolutely. If there’s anything you want us to include (or not), just let us know and we’ll make it happen. Nothing pleases us more than pleasing you.

At SAM, every single detail has a connection with art and that includes our menu template. Artist Shannon Finnegan designed our logo and the font of the menu. For each event, we print a personalized menu. You are unique and each dinner as well.

Food isn’t the only pleasure you will have at SAM. All senses are awakened. The table and its finesse is part of the experience. Plates and silverware are well curated and disposed with precision and meticulousness. Flowers and plants (handpicked from the garden of the Invisible Dog) provide colors and textures that create a vibrant atmosphere.

Besides food and art, we value punctuality more than anything and we expect you to share the same feeling. Louis the XVIII, King of France, is quoted to have said, “Punctuality is the politeness of kings”. Kings (especially before the Revolution) didn’t need to be punctual. They could show up whenever they wanted; people would wait for them. Nevertheless, Louis suggested that, even for a King, one way to show respect was to meet people at the excepted time.
