The Invisible Dog will host the REHEARSAL series, a work-in-progress showing of various types of performance. This month, Ana Lieberman will perform a multi-chaptered piece addressing love, ego, martyrdom, the muse, sex, gender, and the drive to make art. One section will involve a direct address of the audience from a, particularly vulnerable position. Another will involve a collaborative act with a dancer and a video projection of another artist talking about her own work. The piece will end with one last song and dance in drag. Throughout the piece, other collaborators will have been asked to participate and will be playing their chosen roles.
The series curator Sophia Cleary will provide a structured space for feedback open to the audience. By creating a consistent artist-centered space for works-in-progress showings, REHEARSAL aims to provide rich and respectful feedback to performing artists in all stages of work.
