The Invisible Dog Art Center is thrilled to present a food experience by Samuel Ezra Fisch, as part of Nafas, an exhibition and a festival celebrating the union between food and art.
The opening reception hors d'oeuvres will feature an eclectic arrangement of world arthropods for you to taste.
You have been eating bugs your whole life. Maybe as an adventurous child you tried an ant and found it to be delightfully sour. Most of the bugs you eat, you have no idea about. The FDA legally permits a certain amount of bugs including flies and cockroaches in food. It is estimated that an individual consumes around 140,000 bites a year that contain bug parts. You might as well consider the ice officially broken; you eat bugs, and you like the food... you like bugs! You probably have had crab, shrimp, or lobster; did you know that they are arthropods just like insects, spiders, and other bugs? You probably fancy yourself an innovative artist or open mind art connoisseur, so keep an open mind and an open mouth, and try some tasty treats made out of edible bugs!
