The Invisible Dog Art Center is thrilled to present HaYom and Wandel event, as part of Nafas, an exhibition and a festival celebrating the union between food and art.
HaYom and Wandel are Brooklyn-based companies and celebrate and reinterpret traditions and heritage.
HaYom invites contemporary artists from all backgrounds and practices to rethink Jewish ritual objects also known as Judaica. The curation will highlight handmade menorahs, mezuzahs, candle holders and kiddush cups created by artists such as Maya Yadid, Nathanaelle Herbelin, Addam Yekutieli and Alissa Volchkova. The objects onsite will be for sale.
Wandel offers a modern day version of mandel bread, an Ashkenazi baked good. Instead of a twice baked cookie, Wandel is once baked, but derives and honors its Jewish Roots. Wandel will be available to sample and purchase. Wandel will also be debuting two new flavors: Lemon Poppyseed and Gingerbread.
