Jesse Bonnell
Bonnell is a multidisciplinary artist, designer and director working in live performance, and film. His work investigates how ritualized American culture, constructs of collectivity and spaces inform and shape our psyche. His latest on-going body of work, titled, Flag Semaphores, includes interconnected mediums and was presented at Una Boccata d’Arte, a program of Galleria Continua. He is a Creative Capital Award winning artist and a recurring guest lecturer at NYU Gallatin.
His original performance works have been presented at institutions such as REDCAT, The Getty Villa, EMPAC, and CAP UCLA. Jesse has received residency support from LMCC, Headlands Center for the Arts, Abrons Art Center, YADDO, MacDowell, The Mercury Store and Castello San Basilio. Bonnell is the founder of Foghorn, a design studio based in Brooklyn, NY.
