Craftsman Calvin Stalvig will facilitate shibori indigo dying in the Glass House of Invisible Dog. Using methods of binding, pleating, knotting, stitching, clamping and wrapping, participants will prepare a small table runner to take home with them after dying it in an indigo bath. Dynamic and surprising, no two shibori pieces are ever the same.
Calvin Stalvig is a craftsman from Minnesota. A world explorer passionate about wool, spinning, knitting and all things textile, his work explores concepts of domesticity, home, cultural identity and gathering.
