Two beautiful guest writers for the beautiful month of June

Dear Friends,

Bonjour Monday, the first of the beautiful month of June.

I enjoy so much writing our "Monday newsletter rendez-vous", like one of those things we use to hate when we were kids (Oh no, one more to write) and finally love when we are adults (I wish I could write more).

For the last two months, I had a daily routine with two very dear persons: Eva Yaa Asantewaa and Raja Feather Kelly

With Eva, we never missed to say to each other a "Good morning", every morning.

With Raja, we never missed to make fun of everything (one), every day.

On this first Monday of the beautiful month of June, they are my beautiful guest writers and believe it or not, they wrote their texts separately.

When the stars conspire...

Dear Lucien,

When you sweetly invited me to guest-write this post, I suddenly remembered two old songs with the word "Monday" in their titles. But I'm not going to tell you what they are, because I was appalled to recall that one's lyrics are totally dreary, and the other's are quite terrifying.

So, Monday is not so hot in most people's estimation. Really...not so hot.

I want to rehabilitate Monday, though, reclaim it from the capitalist work week.

Give it shine.

So, if Sunday is Sun Day, let us have Moon Day when we can all evoke and invoke our delightful and powerful Inner Godx! How will your Femme Spirit show up and show out today?

Meditate on all that moonbeam radiance! Have a good Monday!

Eva.

Text messages exchange between Raja and I

R - Luci, I have an idea, we should return the days of the week to the Babylonians.
L - I'm busy...
R - Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn.
L - First day of the week is so dreadful.
R - Monday is the second day of the week. The Sun's day and then the Moon's day.
L - Lundi in French. Moon day?
R - Moondays offer enlightenment ;-)
L - Monday can be deceptive.
R - It has so many fooled as the first day of the week for so long. Now back to the truth.
L - What if everyday were Moonday?
R - We might have to think more about how we deceive ourselves, and what other truths we can not admit.
L - Happy Moonday, Raja
R - Love you, Luci
L - Liar
R - Get back to work

Coronarely yours,

Lucien Zayan
Director

PS: Thank you Simon

  • Inconvenient Black bodies
A poem by Eva Yaa Asantewaa

Our blood runs red through inconvenient bodies
that mattered when we were profitable chattel sold, bought, traded like cattle.

We mattered when raped, forced to birth property.

We mattered when building the white man's nation from his soil to the skies.

We mattered when our blood ran red in southeast Asia,  when it was our blood--not the white man's, back in his comfortable home.

We mattered when our brains, our creativity built industries.

We mattered when our own money built white wealth.

We mattered when our ballots built white power.

We build it still, which is how we manage to matter.

But we are inconvenient people, ...
